Thursday to Saturday | Regular weekly assignment

Carbonite Protect is recruiting two experienced Door Supervisors for a family run pub in Farringdon, London.

You must be able to commit to Thursday, Friday and Saturday every week, working 17:00 to 01:00. Availability for all three shifts is compulsory.

Pay and working arrangements

• £13.39 per hour plus holiday pay. (£15.01 including holiday pay)
• Paid weekly.
• PAYE employment only.
• Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 17:00 to 01:00.
• Start as soon as possible.

The venue

On Thursdays and Fridays, the early evening trade is mainly City workers. From around 20:00, the clientele changes to customers having drinks before heading to nearby clubs. Saturdays have a similar late evening crowd, without the after-work trade.

With the busy festive period approaching, we need established door supervisors who understand pub and club environments. You should be friendly and approachable with customers, confident in your decisions and able to handle difficult situations calmly.

The role

• Welcome customers and maintain an approachable presence at the door.
• Carry out ID checks and assess suitability for entry.
• Assess intoxication and recognise when intervention is needed.
• Handle refusals and ejections professionally and proportionately.
• Work confidently on your own and effectively as part of a team.

Essential requirements

• A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
• At least five years’ door supervision experience in pubs and clubs.
• References that verify this specific experience.
• Reliable availability for all three advertised shifts every week.
• Experience making entry decisions and handling intoxication, refusals and ejections.
• A reliable travel plan for the 17:00 start and getting home after the 01:00 finish.

Event security experience alone does not meet the experience requirement for this assignment.

Background screening

Employment is subject to satisfactory background screening in accordance with BS7858:2019.

A complete, verifiable five-year employment and activity history is compulsory. This must account for employment, self-employment, education and any periods out of work. Applicants must provide supporting documents and references as required to complete the checks.

Additional work

Optional additional shifts are available across other Carbonite Protect sites in London, subject to availability. These are separate from this vacancy and do not replace the Thursday to Saturday commitment.

The recruitment process includes a competency assessment, a telephone conversation and a face-to-face meeting with the Operations Manager at the venue.

Pay: £13.39 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24.0 per week
