DOT CLASS B LOCAL DELIVERY DRIVER

Your expertise in route driving and load & unload procedures will help us maintain high standards of service while adhering to all safety regulations. Hours:

From 6 or 7am start time to 2:30pm. Half of work week will be local deliveries in DFW market, and half of work week will be southward to our Hutto and San Antonio locations for material transfers and the day usually ends around 4-6pm.

Duties

• Safely operate a DOT Class B licensed vehicle for local deliveries within designated routes.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo safety and security.
• Deliver goods efficiently to multiple stops, managing route driving with precision and punctuality.
• Inspect vehicles daily for maintenance needs and report any issues promptly to ensure optimal operation.
• Verify delivery paperwork, obtain signatures, and document all delivery activities accurately.
• Follow all federal, state, and company safety regulations, including proper handling of refrigerated trailers and tankers when applicable.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise during routes.
• Will help in the shop as needed and directed by supervisor

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a valid DOT Class B license; experience with commercial driving is essential.
• Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other lifting equipment; prior forklift certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of route planning and route driving best practices for timely deliveries within local areas.
• Strong attention to safety protocols related to freight handling and vehicle operation.
