IRONWOOD Business Consulting is growing! We're looking for an experienced DOT Coordinator to join our team and help businesses navigate transportation safety and regulatory compliance with confidence.

This is an opportunity for a knowledgeable, hands-on DOT professional who enjoys solving problems, educating others, and making a meaningful impact on client operations.

We're especially seeking someone with practical vehicle inspection experience and strong training capabilities.** The ideal candidate combines technical DOT/FMCSA expertise with the ability to educate clients and provide actionable compliance solutions.

What You'll Do

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip commercial vehicle inspections and Level II roadside-style inspections.

• Develop and deliver DOT compliance, vehicle inspection, and transportation safety training.

• Provide expert guidance on FMCSA regulations, fleet safety, permitting, and DOT compliance requirements.

• Conduct client audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.

• Assist clients with DOT documentation, policies, procedures, permits, and regulatory requirements.

• Serve as a trusted resource for clients, providing practical solutions to complex transportation compliance challenges.

• Collaborate with the IRONWOOD team to support ongoing compliance initiatives and client success.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Approximately six years of DOT administration experience or equivalent qualifications through education and experience.

• Practical experience conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

• Knowledge and ability to perform Level II roadside-style inspections.

• Experience developing and delivering professional or DOT-related training.

• Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA regulations and compliance requirements.

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40–50% of the time, including overnight trips.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience conducting Level I roadside-style inspections.

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

• Experience working with fleet management systems.

• Experience providing consulting services or direct compliance support to transportation-related businesses.

Location & Travel

This is a home-based position serving clients primarily throughout Texas, with an **East Texas location preference**. Qualified candidates from other areas of Texas are encouraged to apply.

Travel to client locations is an essential part of the position and may involve overnight or multi-day visits.
