The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing compassionate nursing leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee medication administration, IV infusions, wound care, catheterization, and other clinical procedures with precision and compliance.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop discharge plans, coordinate referrals, and ensure continuity of care across settings such as long-term care facilities or hospitals.
  • Monitor vital signs, conduct physical examinations, and perform diagnostic evaluations including specimen collection or processing when necessary.
  • Lead emergency response efforts including airway management, acute pain management, or first aid in critical situations.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient records while managing medical documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans, diagnoses such as Alzheimer's or dementia-related conditions, and treatment options.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards like NCQA or long-term care regulations.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU/Level I & II trauma centers), skilled nursing facilities, or assisted living communities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal or pediatric ICU), or behavioral health environments.
  • Strong background in medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and electronic health record systems like Epic or Athenahealth.
  • Prior leadership experience as a charge nurse or nurse supervisor during weekend shifts is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs such as Alzheimer's disease is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols, sterile processing techniques, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining clinical excellence.
  • Ability to handle complex cases involving acute pain management, ventilator support, tube feeding management, or cardiac catheterization procedures confidently.
