The Director supervises program staff and oversees service delivery that uses available resources to support self-sufficiency and permanent housing.

The Director serves as the program’s liaison to the Macon County Continuum of Care (CoC) and consults regularly with its Governing Board. The CoC coordinates community efforts to end homelessness, improve access to mainstream programs, and support self-sufficiency for individuals and families. Homeward Bound is primarily supported by federal, state, and local grants.

  • Assist the CEO and CoC consultants with grant applications for U.S. Department of Housing and

Urban Development (HUD) CoC funding, state funding, and other homelessness projects that align with

HUD and local priorities and improve CoC performance.

  • Review and analyze monthly project financial reports and authorize expenses within the approved program budget.
  • Perform related duties as needed to ensure effective program operation.

Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge

  • At least five years of successful experience in human services, including at least three years in a supervisory role. Volunteer work or an advanced degree in a related field will be considered in lieu of experience.
