Dozer Operator

Job Overview

Diamond Construction Group is seeking an experienced and dependable Dozer Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a bulldozer safely and efficiently to support earthmoving, site preparation, road construction, grading, and aggregate operations.

We are looking for a motivated operator who takes pride in their work, maintains equipment responsibly, and is willing to be fully involved with the rest of the crew. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work productively in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a bulldozer for earthmoving, site preparation, road building, rough grading, and material management.
• Perform cut-and-fill operations, slope shaping, and ground leveling according to project specifications.
• Support site development, road construction, and aggregate production operations as required.
• Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and construction drawings when required.
• Work closely with foremen, supervisors, equipment operators, truck drivers, and labourers to maintain efficient site operations.
• Complete daily pre-operational inspections and report equipment defects, damage, or maintenance requirements.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform routine maintenance as required.
• Follow all company policies, site-specific safety procedures, and applicable occupational health and safety requirements.
• Maintain awareness of surrounding workers, equipment, vehicles, and changing site conditions.
• Assist with general site duties and other tasks as required to support the crew and meet project demands.
• Maintain a professional attitude and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience operating a dozer in construction, earthworks, road building, or aggregate operations.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently in varying ground and weather conditions.
• Knowledge of construction site procedures, equipment safety, and daily inspection requirements.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to take direction.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to job sites.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks when required.
• Willingness to assist with other duties as needed to support overall site operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GPS machine control and grade control systems.
• Experience in road construction, site development, or aggregate production.
• Experience working around crushers, loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment.
• Relevant equipment training or safety certifications.

Work Schedule and Conditions

• Full-time seasonal position.
• Work locations throughout Edmonton and the surrounding area.
• Hours may vary depending on project requirements and weather conditions.
• Overtime and extended shifts may be required during busy periods.
• Must be willing to work as part of a crew and contribute to the overall success of each project.
