Dozer/Excavator/Skidsteer Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dozer, Excavator, and Skidsteer Operator to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy construction machinery to perform excavation, grading, utility work, and site preparation tasks. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites while adhering to strict safety regulations and maintaining equipment in top condition.

Duties

• Operate bulldozers (dozers), excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and loaders with precision to perform excavation, grading, and utility installation tasks
• Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety procedures
• Assist in construction utility work by locating underground utilities using specialized equipment and following federal safety regulations
• Perform construction site preparation including land clearing, leveling, and trenching according to project specifications
• Follow all safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members
• Collaborate with project managers and other crew members to execute site plans efficiently and accurately
• Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety inspections

Skills

• Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, bulldozers (dozers), skid steers, loaders, and backhoes in a construction environment
• Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic maintenance on construction equipment
• Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and adherence to OSHA standards for heavy equipment operation
• Ability to perform construction grading, excavation, utility locating, and site preparation tasks effectively
• Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred
• Knowledge of construction utility work including underground utility location techniques
• Excellent understanding of equipment safety procedures and safety regulations on construction sites
• Ability to work in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and quality standards

Pay: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour
