Drafter / CAD Technician

Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Drafter / CAD Technician to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu, with the ability to prepare, review, modify, and organize construction drawings and assist with quantity takeoffs and project documentation.

This position will support our estimating, engineering, and project management teams in civil construction and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and update construction drawings using AutoCAD.
• Review construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Prepare details, sketches, layouts, and as-built drawings as required.
• Use Bluebeam Revu to review, mark up, measure, and organize construction plans.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings.
• Assist with calculations of quantities related to earthwork, concrete, drainage, retaining walls, roadway work, and other civil construction activities.
• Assist the estimating team with measurements, quantities, and preparation of supporting documentation for bids and proposals.
• Coordinate drawings and revisions with project managers, engineers, estimators, and field personnel.
• Maintain organized electronic files, drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
• Verify dimensions, quantities, and drawing information for accuracy.
• Assist in preparing drawings and documentation required for project submittals and construction operations.

Requirements

• Experience using AutoCAD.
• Experience using Bluebeam Revu.
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering and construction plans.
• Experience preparing or modifying construction drawings and details.
• Knowledge of quantity takeoffs and construction measurements.
• Basic understanding of civil construction, including earthwork, concrete, drainage, roadway construction, and related work.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Previous experience in a general contractor, engineering firm, or civil construction environment is preferred.
