About the role

We are seeking a talented Drafter to join our team.

This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in transforming design concepts and engineering specifications into precise, detailed technical drawings.

As a Drafter, you will be instrumental in supporting our project delivery, ensuring that all drawings meet industry standards and facilitate effective communication between design, construction, and client teams.

This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse construction and engineering projects whilst developing your technical expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed technical drawings and plans using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software based on architect and engineer specifications

• Convert sketches, specifications and calculations into accurate working drawings for construction.
• Prepare construction detailed drawings for building projects
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and building regulations
• Revise and update drawings in response to design changes, client feedback and construction requirements
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and project managers to clarify design intent and resolve drawing-related queries
• Conduct quality checks on drawings to identify and correct errors or inconsistencies before submission
• Maintain comprehensive drawing files and documentation, ensuring proper organisation and version control
• Support the preparation of tender documents and construction specifications as required

What we're looking for

Diploma or degree qualification in Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline

• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD or equivalent industry-standard tools
• Strong understanding of construction drawing standards, building codes and technical specifications
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and precise drawings
• Solid knowledge of construction processes and methods relevant to building and civil engineering projects
• Ability to interpret sketches, specifications and verbal instructions from senior professionals
• Strong organisational skills with capability to manage multiple drawing projects simultaneously
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Previous experience as a drafter or in a similar technical role within construction or engineering is advantageous
• Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) or other advanced design tools is desirable
