Drafter

Actalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a Drafter opening with a manufacturer that is located in Allentown, PA. This person will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings for architectural products using CAD tools under the guidance of project engineers and designers. This person will maintain organized drawing files, assist with revisions and as-built documentation and support continuous improvement of drafting processes and templates.

Below is a summary of responsibilities for this position:

• Create fabrication drawings for manufacturing using AutoCAD
• Read and interpret architectural, structural and mechanical drawings
• Utilize knowledge of construction methods and materials, related to pre-fabricated systems and commercial building products
• Create technical drawings with a high attention to details and accuracy in dimensions and layouts
• Organize and document technical information including maintaining drawing standars, version control and clear file management
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and shop personnel in a team-oriented environment
• Use basic math and geometry skills for calculations related to measurements, quantities and design adjustments

Below is a summary of qualifications:

• Associates Degree or technical certificat in drafting, engineering technology or a related field
• Relevant experience in manufacturing, architectural or construction
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Experience with a 3D modeling software (Revit, SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo)
• Experience creating show drawings
