DRAFTER M&E

About the role

TAHAP WIRA SDN BHD is seeking a skilled Drafter M&E to join our engineering team on a full-time basis. This role is based in Puchong, Selangor and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design and technical documentation of mechanical and electrical systems for a variety of projects. As a Drafter M&E, you will play a critical role in translating engineering concepts into precise technical drawings and specifications that form the foundation of our project deliverables. This position is essential to ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards, and the successful execution of our engineering projects from conception to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate and detailed mechanical and electrical drawings using CAD software, including plans, elevations, sections, and schematic diagrams
• Convert engineering sketches, calculations and specifications into comprehensive technical drawings
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, codes and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with senior engineers and designers to refine drawing designs and incorporate feedback
• Maintain detailed records of drawing revisions and ensure proper version control and documentation
• Conduct quality checks on drawings to identify and correct errors before submission
• Prepare bills of materials, schedules and other technical documentation as required
• Liaise with project teams to understand project requirements and deliver drawings on schedule
• Support the preparation of tender documentation and construction specifications
• Stay updated with industry best practices and software enhancements to improve drafting efficiency

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Proven experience as an Engineering Drafter or similar drafting role in mechanical and electrical design
• Advanced proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent platforms)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical design principles and industry standards
• Familiarity with building information modelling (BIM) practices and workflows
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Good communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with engineers, designers and project managers
• Understanding of construction methodologies and documentation requirements
• Chinese preferred
