DRAFTMAN AND QC

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftman and QC to join our growing team at JJ Max Precision Engineering Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Ulu Tiram, Johor. In this dual-responsibility role, you will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings whilst simultaneously ensuring quality control standards are maintained across our engineering operations. This position is integral to our production process, bridging the gap between design conceptualisation and manufacturing excellence, and directly contributing to the delivery of high-quality precision engineering solutions to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications using CAD software in accordance with industry standards and client requirements
• Convert engineering designs and sketches into accurate production drawings with precise measurements and tolerances
• Review and verify drawings for completeness, accuracy and compliance with technical specifications
• Conduct quality control inspections on manufactured components and finished products against established standards and blueprints
• Document and record quality control findings, maintaining accurate QC records and reports
• Identify defects and non-conformities, liaising with production and engineering teams to implement corrective actions
• Ensure all drawings and documentation are properly filed, archived and easily accessible for reference
• Collaborate with engineers, production supervisors and other team members to resolve technical issues and optimise manufacturing processes
• Maintain familiarity with relevant engineering standards, codes and industry best practices

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Higher Certificate in Engineering Drafting, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS software.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards, symbols and conventions
• Experience in quality control and inspection procedures within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in both drafting and quality assurance work
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and blueprints accurately
• Strong mathematical and measurement skills
• Knowledge of tolerance standards and dimensional analysis
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Reliability and commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of work
• Preferred experience with precision engineering, automotive components or similar manufacturing sectors
