Draftman

About the role

In the position of Draftsman, you have an important role in the design and development process, responsible for preparing accurate and precise technical drawings, plans, and diagrams that comply with project requirements. You will work closely with the engineering team, design team, and project management team to ensure smooth communication and timely project completion. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of drafting principles, high attention to detail, and proficiency in using industry-standard CAD software.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, blueprints, and detailed plans according to project specifications and details received from engineers and architects
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to review and understand project objectives, constraints, and design parameters
• Create accurate 2D and 3D models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software in compliance with industry standards and best practices
• Verify dimensions, materials, and other design elements to ensure drawings are accurate and practically applicable
• Revise and improve existing drawings as necessary to align with design changes or improvements
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support the procurement process by providing complete design documentation
• Regularly quality-check prepared drawings to identify and correct errors or inconsistencies
• Maintain technical drawing databases and design files in an organized manner for easy access and retrieval
• Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure work meets schedules and project targets
• Monitor industry trends, software advancements, and latest drafting techniques to continuously improve drafting efficiency and accuracy

About you

• Bachelor's degree or certificate in engineering, architecture, drafting, or related field
• 1-2 years of work experience as a Draftsman in the industrial sector
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
• Good technical and mathematical skills, able to interpret and translate complex concepts into accurate technical drawings
• Attention to detail, emphasis on accuracy, and commitment to error-free work
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Time management and organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with relevant industry requirements, standards, and regulations
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as required by the job
