Draftman

Job Purpose

The Draftsman is responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings based on project requirements, design specifications and engineering inputs. The role ensures all drawings comply with company standards, regulatory requirements and client expectations, supporting smooth construction and project execution. The Draftsman works closely with engineers, architects, and project teams to translate concepts into practical drawings while maintaining proper documentation, version control and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate technical drawings, layouts and plans based on design specifications and project requirements.
• Review and interpret engineering designs, ensuring compliance with company standards, codes, and regulations.
• Verify dimensions, scales, and technical details to ensure accuracy and quality of all drawings.
• Manage drawing revisions, updates and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Utilize CAD software efficiently while maintaining standardized templates, symbols and libraries.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, QA/QC, and project teams to ensure alignment and resolve design issues.
• Identify and prevent drawing clashes, discrepancies and errors before submission or execution.
• Maintain organized documentation, drawing logs and records for tracking, audits, and reference.
• Support project execution by providing drawings for construction, procurement, commissioning and as-built documentation.
• Contribute to team development and continuous improvement by supporting junior drafters, enhancing workflows and ensuring adherence to drafting best practices.

Qualifications

• SPM, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or equivalent CAD software.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, 1–2 years of drafting experience are encouraged.
• Experience in technical, shop, and as-built drawings.
• Exposure to construction, infrastructure, LRT/MRT, or bridge projects is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of drafting standards, engineering drawings, and document control.
• Familiarity with 3D modelling or BIM software is an added advantage.
