Draftperson / Information Systems Technician

Based just 10 minutes south of Rotorua CBD, Red Stag Timber is an industry leader in producing high-quality structural timber products. The Company operates New Zealand’s largest sawmill and is a well-established, successful business employing more than 450 staff and contractors.

We currently have a vacancy in our Red Stag Timber Projects & Site Services team.

DRAFTSPERSON / INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN

This role provides drafting and document management support for capital, non-routine, and maintenance works. It contributes to successful project and maintenance outcomes by delivering drafting services and maintaining a central repository of drawings and plant-related information for operational and maintenance teams.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Draftsperson / IS Technician manages the site’s indexing and retrieval system, including the development and maintenance of drawings and technical information.

The successful candidate will hold an Engineering Diploma, relevant drafting certification, and working knowledge of 2D and 3D software. They will also have at least five years’ drafting and drawing experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing processing environment. In addition, you will be:

• An excellent communicator, with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Competent in 2D and 3D drawing software, including basic design and problem-solving
• Experienced with computer-based data management systems, such as SQL and MS Access
• An intermediate to advanced user of MS Excel and Word
• Proficient in the use of MS Project
• Well organised, detail-oriented, and able to apply sound judgement
