Draftsman

Job Summary
The Draftsman is responsible for preparing, revising, and maintaining accurate technical drawings, plans, layouts, and other engineering and construction documents based on project requirements, specifications, and instructions from engineers or project managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, detailed plans, layouts, and construction drawings using AutoCAD or other drafting software.
• Convert sketches, specifications, and engineering concepts into accurate drawings.
• Revise drawings based on approved design changes and project requirements.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site conditions and completed works.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other project personnel to clarify technical requirements.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, dimensions, and consistency with approved plans.
• Maintain proper revision control and ensure that the latest approved drawings are properly identified and distributed.
• Prepare drawings for construction, renovation, fabrication, installation, and facility improvement projects.
• Assist engineers in preparing plans, details, sections, elevations, and other technical documentation.
• Conduct site measurements and inspections when necessary to ensure drawings reflect actual conditions.
• Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy files of drawings and project documents.
• Incorporate comments and revisions from engineers, consultants, and management.
• Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and material estimates when required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable drafting standards, project specifications, and company requirements.
• Perform other related duties and special project assignments as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Drafting Technology, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related course.
• At least 1–3 years of experience in drafting, preferably in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or facilities.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, SolidWorks, or other CAD software is an advantage.
• Able to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and file management skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with engineers and project teams.
• Willing to conduct site measurements and inspections when required.
