Draftsman

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare structural drawings using AutoCAD based on engineers’ design calculations, sketches and instructions.

• Prepare reinforced concrete (R.C.) structural drawings, including:

  • Foundation and pile cap layouts
  • R.C. footing and raft foundation details
  • Beam and slab layouts and reinforcement details
  • Column and wall layouts and reinforcement details
  • Staircase and other R.C. details

• Prepare structural steel drawings, including:

  • Steel framing plans and elevations
  • Steel beam and column details
  • Bracing systems
  • Base plates and holding-down bolts
  • Steel connection and fabrication details
  • General steelwork details

• Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, sections, elevations and construction details.

• Prepare drawings for alteration and addition (A&A) works, where required.

• Revise and update drawings according to engineers’ comments, design changes, site conditions and authority comments.

• Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, MEP and other consultants’ drawings to identify discrepancies and clashes.

• Assist engineers in preparing drawings for authority submissions in Malaysia and/or Hong Kong.

• Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision records, filing and document control.

• Prepare as-built drawings based on site information where required.

• Able to understand structural engineers’ sketches, mark-ups and design intent and convert them into clear and accurate technical drawings.

• Check drawing dimensions, levels, member sizes and details before issue.
