Draftsperson

About the role

This is a part-time position, 3–4 days per week. Mondays are required, and the remaining days are flexible. You will turn warehouse concepts into accurate drawings for fabrication and installation, producing steel detailing, shop drawings and installation drawings for mezzanine floors, staircases, platforms, handrails and racking systems.

Key responsibilities

• Produce steel detailing, shop drawings and installation drawings for mezzanine floors, staircases, platforms, handrails and racking systems
• Convert sales layouts into clear, buildable designs
• Consider warehouse layouts, material flows and throughput in your designs
• Support R&D and ongoing improvements to warehouse solutions
• Work with sales engineers, installers and external structural engineers to develop and certify designs
• Make sure designs meet the relevant Australian Standards and building codes, such as AS 1657, AS 4100 and AS 4084
• Manage revisions and drawing registers in line with ISO 9001 quality system

About you

• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Availability on Mondays plus 2–3 additional days per week
• Full Australian working rights
• Advance Steel experience
• Experience in steel detailing and fabrication documentation
• Experience designing staircases and mezzanines
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes, and building permit and approval requirements
• A practical approach to problem-solving and to working with sales and installation teams
