About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity awaits, for highly motivated and experienced Dragline Operators to operate our Bucyrus 1370 dragline as the primary overburden mining machine. If you are committed to Safety, have a positive & supportive can-do attitude that will contribute to our great team culture, then we want to hear from you!

This position offers the flexibility to live locally or DIDO on a 7 days on 7 days off rotating day and night shift roster. The Blair Athol Coal mine is located an easy 20 minute commute from the family-friendly township of Clermont in Central Queensland, 120 km northwest of the FIFO hub of Emerald and an easy driving distance from nearby coastal communities.

Key Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include:

• You will be responsible for the safe, professional and diligent approach and operation of our 1370 dragline.
• Achieve production targets relating to the dragline.
• Identify, report and act on all hazards whilst complying with the Health, Safety and Environment Management System
• Maintain cleanliness of all work areas
• Have a demonstrated positive work ethic
• Be an effective team player
• Uncompromising commitment to safety and the environment
• Sound judgement, decision-making and problem-solving
• Flexible in approach and able to deal with ambiguity

What You’ll Bring to the Role

To be part of our ongoing success, we're looking for individuals who bring both capability and passion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Previous mining operating experience including dragline, dozer, grader and cable reeler skills.
• Knowledge with the development of dig plans and the interpretation of mine plans
• A positive can-do attitude with a strong passion for safety improving mining efficiencies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A team player who can help influence and shape our culture to ensure a safe, productive, sustainable and disciplined approach to work is maintained.
