About the role

Global View Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Draughtman to join our engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in transforming technical concepts and designs into detailed, accurate drawings and documentation. As a Draughtman, you will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings, plans, and specifications that form the foundation for our engineering projects. Your work will directly impact project delivery, compliance, and the successful implementation of engineering solutions across our portfolio.

What you'll be doing

• Creating detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and plans using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and other engineering tools
• Converting engineers' sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions into precise, dimensioned drawings suitable for construction or manufacturing
• Preparing construction drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical designs, and other technical documentation in accordance with industry standards and regulations
• Reviewing and revising drawings based on feedback from engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Maintaining detailed records of all drawings, modifications, and version control throughout the project lifecycle
• Collaborating with engineering teams to clarify design requirements and resolve technical issues
• Ensuring all drawings comply with relevant building codes, industry standards, and client specifications
• Producing bill of materials, schedules, and other supporting documentation as required
• Participating in design reviews and contributing technical insights to improve drawing quality and project outcomes

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in engineering drafting
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in engineering drafting or technical drawing within a professional engineering environment
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar industry-standard programmes
• Strong knowledge of technical drawing standards, conventions, and best practices
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, dimensioned drawings
• Competency in interpreting engineering concepts, specifications, and technical requirements
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with building codes, construction standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to engineering projects
• Problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving drawing-related issues
• Preferred: Experience with 3D modelling, civil engineering drawings, or specialisation in mechanical, electrical, or structural drafting
• Preferred: Knowledge of project management software and document control systems
