Draughtsman

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Draughtsman / Estimator with a strong background in architectural metal, aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel fabrication works.

The ideal candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD and capable of independently preparing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material calculations, and accurate project cost estimates.

The role requires a combination of technical drafting expertise, estimation skills, and practical knowledge of fabrication and installation processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drafting & Technical Drawings

• Prepare detailed AutoCAD shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical drawings.
• Develop drawings for aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel structures.
• Prepare fabrication details for handrails, balustrades, staircases, canopies, doors, windows, cladding, frames, and customized metal works.
• Interpret architectural, structural, and tender drawings.
• Revise drawings based on consultant comments, client feedback, and site requirements.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and applicable standards.

2. Estimation & Quantity Take-Off

• Perform accurate quantity take-offs from architectural and structural drawings.
• Prepare BOQs, material schedules, cutting lists, and estimation sheets.
• Calculate material quantities, wastage, and fabrication requirements.
• Prepare project cost estimates covering materials, fabrication, labor, finishing, transportation, and installation.
• Assist in preparing competitive quotations and tender submissions.
• Review technical specifications and tender documents to identify cost implications.

3. Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with sales, engineering, procurement, production, and site teams.
• Provide technical support during project estimation and execution.
• Prepare technical submissions, material schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Verify drawings and material quantities before fabrication.
• Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions, and estimation documents.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in architectural metal and aluminum works.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
• Proven experience in quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, and project estimation.
• Practical knowledge of aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel fabrication.
• Experience with architectural metal products, including handrails, balustrades, staircases, canopies, doors, windows, and cladding.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and fabrication drawings.
• Good knowledge of fabrication methods, materials, finishes, and installation requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills for estimation and material calculations.
• Ability to independently manage drafting and estimation assignments.
• UAE/GCC experience is preferred.

Preferred Candidate

We are looking for a technically competent professional who can handle both drafting and estimation independently, with strong attention to detail, cost accuracy, and project deadlines.

Candidates with hands-on experience in architectural metal fabrication and aluminum installation projects will be given preference.

Pay: AED1,900.00 - AED8,200.00 per month

Work Location: In person
