Drinking Water - Project Leader

Location: Remote | Missouri/Illinois

An established engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced water professional to take a leading role across its drinking water project portfolio.

The position combines project delivery, technical leadership and client development, with the added benefit of employee ownership opportunities alongside a competitive compensation package. Responsibilities:

• Lead drinking water projects across treatment, distribution and wider water system infrastructure, from planning and design through to construction.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing and overall delivery.
• Build and maintain client relationships, identifying opportunities for future work.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors and technical specialists.
• Contribute to proposals, fee development and business development activities.
• Maintain technical quality standards and support the development of junior engineers.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licence

General Requirements:

• 8+ years of consulting engineering experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• Strong background in drinking water infrastructure, ideally across treatment, distribution or water system planning.
• Proven ability to manage project finances, schedules and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills and confidence managing client relationships.
• Experience contributing to proposals and business development.
• Willingness to travel occasionally across Missouri and Illinois for project-related activity.

Compensation:

• Up to $175,000 base salary
