Driver Apprentice - City

Position Overview This role focuses on developing proficiency in operating tractor-trailer combinations through education and skills training. Responsibilities include both driving and non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work.

Essential Functions Operate various trucks, perform safety inspections, hook and unhook trailers, handle freight with motorized/manual equipment, secure freight, and verify documentation. Communicate with dispatch and customers, provide customer service, and perform related tasks such as tire chaining and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL or CLP and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Meet DOT regulatory requirements
• Basic math, communication, and physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently or in teams, and perform physically demanding tasks

Working Conditions: Drive in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials, with hours varying based on operational needs.
