Driver - Cape Town

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years experience

• Experience in driving trucks/heavy vehicles

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

• Valid driver's license (Code 10)

• Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit)

• Code 14 driver's license will be advantageous

JOB PURPOSE:

The Driver is responsible for transporting steel and coils efficiently, and on time, while complying with company policies and road regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly

Conduct daily vehicle inspections (pre-trip inspections)

Load and offload goods correctly and safely

Ensure timely delivery of goods

Maintain accurate trip records (logbook / trip sheets)

Report any vehicle faults or incidents immediately

Comply with all traffic laws and company procedures

Safeguard the vehicle and transported goods

Communicate effectively with the dispatcher or supervisor
