About the Role

Driscoll Foods is hiring a Driver Check-In Lead to be the final checkpoint between our delivery routes and our warehouse. You will verify every returned product and every driver's paperwork before anything goes back into inventory or a customer is credited. This is a high-accountability role with the tasked with acting as a liaison cross departmentally to ensure accurate documentation, integrity of product returns, and to identify/stop errors at the dock.

What You'll Do

• Audit route paperwork on return: Collect and review each driver's return sheet, invoices, and pickup slips before unloading. Count every case against the paperwork, question drivers directly on any discrepancy, and resolve issues before the driver is released.
• Inspect and manage all returns: Segregate returned product by temperature zone and return reason. Inspect 100% of returns for dates, packaging, temperature, and quality, and decide the disposition: restock, dispose, or vendor return. Ensure previously rejected product never goes back into stock.
• Protect invoice accuracy: Give Invoice Cleaning accurate, same day adjustment data. Ensure paperwork is accurate to prevent credits for product that was not physically returned and verified, and confirm every scheduled and forced pickup is accounted for.
• Connect the teams: Serve as the main link between Drivers, Check-In staff, Inventory Control, Invoice Cleaning, Transportation, and Warehouse Operations for everything that comes back on a truck.
• Transportation communication: Document and report missing or incorrect paperwork, wrong return codes, unreported returns, missed pickups, and messy or unsafe truck conditions. Submit daily compliance reports with photo backup to transportation.
• Lead the Check-In area: work with team hands on during peak return hours, keep the area clean and organized, enforce dry ice and safety procedures, and track returned equipment (bins, blankets, straps, ice cream bags, customer keys).

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of food warehouse, inventory control, quality control, or logistics experience (returns or receiving preferred)
• Knowledge of product dating, cold-chain handling, and produce quality inspection
• Confident, assertive communicator who can hold drivers to standard professionally
• Detail-oriented investigator who stays composed in high-volume periods
• EPJ and forklift experience
• Comfortable with Microsoft Excel, data entry, and tablet documentation

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs; and work in cooler and freezer environments. Hands-on training provided.
