WasteCo is seeking experienced and safety-focused Class 4/5 Drivers to join our Invercargill team. We currently have multiple opportunities available, including a Hook Truck Driver servicing transfer stations across the Southland and Gore districts, and a Multi-Skilled Driver role supporting operations across hook trucks, side lifters, skip trucks, loaders, and other site activities.

About the Role

Based in Invercargill, you will play a key role in supporting our Solid Waste operations. Duties include operating hook trucks, transporting loads, completing transfer station activities, and supporting site operations such as loader driving, compactor operation, and relief kiosk duties where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate hook trucks safely and efficiently.
• Transport loads and service transfer stations across the Southland region.
• Load and unload materials in a safe and timely manner.
• Operate loaders and compactors where trained and authorised.
• Complete pre-start checks, logbooks, and daily paperwork.
• Liaise with customers and maintain a high standard of customer service.
• Adhere to all health and safety requirements and NZ transport regulations.
• Assist with general transfer station and operational duties as required.

What We're Looking For

• Full Class 4 Licence essential.
• Class 5 Licence advantageous.
• Experience operating hook trucks preferred.
• Experience operating side lifters, skip trucks, and loaders advantageous.
• W, T and R endorsements preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• A positive attitude and commitment to customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to health, safety, and operational excellence.
