Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers across over-the-road (OTR) routes.
• Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity and safety compliance.
• Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimized routes while maintaining awareness of traffic conditions and road hazards.
• Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations during daily operations.
• Transport hazardous or dangerous goods following strict hazardous materials regulations to ensure safety for all personnel and the environment.
• Manage truck loading and unloading processes efficiently, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery schedules, or safety concerns.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with a focus on freight handling.
• Strong knowledge of truck driving regulations including FMCSA, DOT, and hazardous materials regulations.
• Skilled in operating various types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers with manual transmission capabilities.
• Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time adjustments.
• Ability to handle logistics cargo handling tasks including load & unload procedures for freight of different types such as hazardous goods or temperature-sensitive items.
• Excellent manual handling skills to ensure safe loading/unloading practices while minimizing damage or injury.
• Experience with automobile transportation techniques for safe transfer of vehicles or equipment when necessary.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to dangerous goods transportation and compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Strong driving record demonstrating safe operation over long distances on over-the-road routes.

Pay: $24.28 - $29.24 per hour
