Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
• Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and security during transit.
• Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, and delivery documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure trucks are in optimal condition; report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Collaborate with logistics teams for cargo loading/unloading, forklift operation when necessary, and route planning to optimize delivery schedules.
• Follow all safety procedures related to truck loading/unloading, manual transmission operation, and handling freight such as freight containers or specialized cargo.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery times and address any route or cargo issues proactively.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving across multiple routes or regions.
• Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, or tractor-trailers is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and hazardous goods handling is essential.
• Experience with route driving using GPS navigation systems; ability to plan efficient over-the-road (OTR) routes.
• Hands-on experience with truck loading/unloading procedures; familiarity with forklift operation is a plus.
• Strong understanding of truck driving safety standards, manual transmission operation, and logistics cargo handling practices.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of freight transported; clean driving record preferred.

Pay: $25.60 - $30.83 per hour
