Duties

• Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Plan and execute route driving using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules across OTR routes.
• Load and unload freight efficiently, utilizing proper manual handling techniques and logistics cargo handling procedures.
• Transport various types of cargo such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, or hazardous materials, following all hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate documentation for delivery logs, shipment manifests, and incident reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in delivery driving or truck driving, especially within freight transportation or logistics environments.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker).
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving.
• Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or tractor-trailers with manual transmissions.
• Ability to handle manual loading and unloading tasks safely while adhering to hazardous materials handling procedures.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; ability to manage long hours on the road responsibly.

Pay: $24.59 - $29.61 per hour
