Driver

Driver requirements

• A competent Cantonese and English speaking driver shall be appointed and agreed by the Project Manager or delegate.
• The driver shall hold a valid driving licence of the appropriate vehicle category for at least 3 years with a good driving record.
• The driver shall not smoke inside the contract vehicle.
• The driver shall not drink alcohol or take drugs while carrying out driving duties.
• The driver shall possess a mobile phone with hands-free kit connected to a local mobile network.
• The Contractor shall provide Construction Industry Safety Course (Green Card) training for the driver.

For the Project Manager's contract vehicle driver, the vehicle shall be available during the following periods:

• Monday to Saturday: 08:00 to 18:30 with 1-hour lunch break. The lunch break time is decided by the Project Manager.
• Any time when the Contractor is working outside the normal hours.
• Other times as instructed by the Project Manager.
• Including periods of Red/Black Rainstorm Warning, Landslip Warning, and Typhoon Signals when requested by the Project Manager.

Reference: PS Clause 1.25(3) & 1.25(7).

Practical interpretation: The driver is normally required to work 08:00-18:30, Monday to Saturday, plus any additional hours specifically instructed by the Project Manager.
