Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, to ensure timely delivery of freight across diverse routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and excellent route management will contribute to our commitment to reliable service. Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Plan and execute over-the-road (OTR) driving routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and efficiency.
• Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods according to hazardous materials regulations.
• Transport freight securely across various routes while maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure.
• Manage logistics cargo handling for different types of freight including refrigerated goods, freight requiring special handling such as tanker loads or flatbed shipments.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards related to truck loading/unloading, manual handling, and hazardous materials transportation.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and delivery driving.
• Hands-on experience with truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for various cargo types such as refrigerated goods, tanker loads, or hazardous materials.
• Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods.
• Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely over long distances on OTR routes.
• Knowledge of GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time tracking during deliveries.
• Prior experience in automobile transportation or logistics cargo handling is preferred but not mandatory.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with necessary endorsements for hazmat or tanker loads is highly desirable.
