Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, to ensure timely delivery of freight across designated routes. Your expertise in navigating over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, adhering to safety regulations, and handling logistics cargo will be essential to maintaining our high standards of service. Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers, including manual transmission vehicles, across long-distance routes in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured correctly for transportation.
• Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods in accordance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols.
• Manage the transportation of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment as required.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for compliance with safety standards related to truck loading/unloading and cargo handling.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in line with FMCSA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve any route or logistical issues promptly.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving over long distances.
• Familiarity with truck loading and unloading procedures, especially involving freight that requires special handling such as hazardous or temperature-sensitive goods.
• Knowledge of trucking equipment such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and tractor-trailers.
• Experience operating trucks with manual transmission is preferred.
• Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for dangerous goods transportation.
• Prior experience in logistics cargo handling and automobile transportation is highly desirable.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type being operated; endorsements for Hazmat or tankers are a plus.
