Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, to ensure timely delivery of freight across diverse routes. Your expertise in navigating over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and adherence to safety regulations will help us maintain our reputation for reliable service. Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers and specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
• Plan and execute route driving using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals
• Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured correctly for transport
• Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
• Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, pickups, cargo handling, and compliance logs in accordance with logistics procedures
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate deliveries and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., hazmat, tanker)
• Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across long distances (OTR routes preferred)
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading
• Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment is highly desirable
• Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks safely
• Strong navigation skills using GPS systems and familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with all federal and state transportation laws
