Driver

We are currently seeking a Class “C” Driver/Warehouse Assistant who has a great customer service personality with at least 1-2 years of driver experience as well as demonstrated knowledge of pickup and delivery procedures. This job involves retrieving palletized shipments from local vendors and delivering these pallets s to local SF Express offices, clients, and customers. There are lifting requirements and candidates should expect to drive approximately 80%-100% of the time with remaining time working in the warehouse. The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge of how to complete a DOT driver’s log.

In addition to driving responsibilities, the employee will assist with general warehouse operations when route volume is low. The ideal candidate should have a strong sense of responsibility, excellent customer service skills, and the flexibility to support both transportation and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Delivery Operations

• Safely operate a bobtail truck to pick up and deliver parcels, boxes, and cargo to customers throughout the local area.
• Ensure all pickups and deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
• Adhere to all applicable driving regulations and company transportation policies.
• Safely maneuver the vehicle in and out of customer loading areas, docks, and roadways.
• Properly maintain driver logs and required transportation documentation in accordance with applicable DOT regulations.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required inspection reports.
• Maintain accurate and organized logbooks, delivery records, and necessary paperwork.
• Follow applicable TSA and CBP regulations when handling regulated shipments.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service throughout the pickup and delivery process.

Cargo Handling & Warehouse Support

• Safely load and unload cargo using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Properly secure cargo to prevent damage during transportation.
• Perform general warehouse duties, including sorting, moving, organizing, and handling shipments, when route volume is minimal.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and other warehouse labor as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures when handling cargo, vehicles, and warehouse equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Licenses & Experience

• Valid Class C driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle is required.
• A clean and acceptable DMV driving record is required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of driving experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience dealing directly with the public preferred.
• Previous bobtail truck driving, delivery, or warehouse experience preferred.
• Stable work history preferred.

Physical & Operational Requirements

• Must be able to safely lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs.
• Must be able to handle items weighing up to 70 lbs with the assistance of appropriate loading equipment.
• Must be able to operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other basic material-handling equipment safely.
• Must be willing to perform physically demanding warehouse duties in addition to driving responsibilities.
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and commitment to safety are required.

Compliance & Safety

• Must successfully complete applicable background checks and required physical examinations.
• Must comply with applicable DOT, TSA, CBP, and company safety requirements.
• Must complete required drug and alcohol testing when applicable to the position under federal and state law.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
