Duties

• Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks on over-the-road (OTR) routes.
• Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely delivery while optimizing routes for efficiency.
• Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, handling logistics cargo with care to prevent damage or accidents.
• Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to hazardous goods and dangerous commodities.
• Transport automobile transportation and other freight across long distances while maintaining proper documentation and logs.
• Load & unload cargo accurately, ensuring proper truck loading/unloading procedures are followed in accordance with safety standards.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to ensure optimal operation; report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Follow all safety procedures during manual handling tasks and when dealing with hazardous or sensitive materials.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in delivery driving or truck driving, preferably with experience in freight transportation involving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type being operated; manual transmission experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments.
• Ability to handle manual tasks associated with truck loading/unloading and cargo handling safely and efficiently.
• Experience with route driving on over-the-road (OTR) routes involving long-distance travel is preferred.
• Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for various types of freight including dangerous goods or hazardous materials when applicable.
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence.

Pay: $25.72 - $30.98 per hour
