Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Driver to join our healthcare transportation team. In this vital role, you will transport clients while ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients, including those with mobility challenges, within medical facilities or transportation settings. Your primary focus will be on ensuring passenger safety, providing compassionate assistance, and maintaining smooth operations during patient transfers. Responsibilities

• Providing safe and reliable transportation services to the local community and other regions.
• Assisting Ambulatory, Wheelchair & gurney bound patients to and from medical appointments and hospital/facility discharges.
• Executing transports as directed by dispatch without error or debate.
• Abide by your predetermined availability established during your interview.
• Safely operate gurneys, wheelchairs, and other mobility equipment to transport patients within healthcare facilities or transit environments
• Assist patients with boarding and disembarking from vehicles or transfer points, ensuring their comfort and safety
• Follow all traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations during patient transfers and vehicle operation
• Provide first aid or emergency response assistance when needed, including CPR and emergency stop procedures
• Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and team members to coordinate transfers and address any concerns
• Assist with heavy lifting and wheelchair assistance to ensure safe handling of patients with varying mobility needs
• Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of transport equipment and vehicles in accordance with safety standards.

Skills/Requirements

• No CDL Required
• Must be able to pass DOT physical and drug test. Marijuana use is not acceptable for this position and will result in termination/refusal of employment.
• Must have a clean driving record upon applying along with copy of driver's license. (For driving positions)
• Experience driving vans or other commercial vehicles (not required but is desirable)
• Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations applicable to passenger transport
• Ability to respond quickly to traffic changes or emergency situations with calmness and professionalism
• Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse populations
• Familiarity with senior care, or behavior management techniques for working with vulnerable populations
• Certification in first aid, CPR, defensive driving, and emergency response procedures for transportation is highly desirable (Must have CPR/first aid or be willing to acquire within 30 days of employment. Candidate is responsible for cost of establishing certification, employer will cover renewal going forward.)
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist passengers with wheelchair/gurney assistance or mobility aids (Be able to team lift)
