Position Overview

As a Student Transportation Driver, you will safely transport students to and from school, activities, and other destinations. Drivers with a clean driving record and proven responsibility may qualify for the benefit of taking their assigned vehicle home. This role is ideal for individuals who are safety-focused, reliable, and enjoy working with students.

Schedule

Morning and afternoon school routes (approx. 6:30–9:30 AM and 1:30–4:30 PM)

• Occasional mid-day or field trip assignments may be available
• Children assigned may change during the school session, so flexibility and adaptability are important

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a company vehicle along designated routes.

• Pick up and drop off students on time while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Maintain accurate records of routes, attendance, and mileage as required.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, parents, and school staff when needed.
• Ensure compliance with all DOT, state, and company safety regulations.

Qualifications

Must hold a valid Connecticut driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.

• S Endorsement or V Endorsement required.
• Clean driving record (no major violations, DUIs, or suspensions).
• Must pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to student safety.
• Flexible and able to adjust to changing student assignments or schedules.
