Duties

• Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers across over-the-road (OTR) routes.
• Navigate using GPS systems to ensure efficient and timely deliveries while adhering to planned routes and schedules.
• Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and compliance with logistics cargo handling standards.
• Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to hazardous goods and dangerous commodities.
• Maintain accurate documentation for each trip, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and shipment records.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during transit.

Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on route driving.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type being operated, including manual transmission proficiency if applicable.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving.
• Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or tractor-trailers is highly desirable.
• Ability to handle manual loading/unloading processes safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools to optimize delivery schedules.
• Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight security and safety.
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance in commercial driving environments.
