That means fewer hauls, lower bills, and less environmental impact. We're growing in the Columbus metro area and looking for a dependable, safety-focused driver to join our team.

The Role

As a Driver / Compaction Equipment Operator, you'll run a daily route of commercial clients in our exclusive Columbus territory. You'll operate a 24,000 lb truck with hydraulic compaction equipment. Most of the job is safe driving on the road, and the rest is hands-on equipment work at client sites. Full paid training is provided during a probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 24,000 lb truck with hydraulic compaction equipment on public roads and at client sites
• Service commercial customers throughout the Columbus metro area
• Operate compaction equipment skillfully to reduce waste volume at each stop
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and equipment
• Log work activity accurately using a handheld device
• Report issues, incidents, or site concerns promptly to dispatch
• Keep trucks and equipment clean and help with routine maintenance
• Represent the company professionally and build positive relationships with clients
• Support the sales team as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• At least 1 year of truck driving experience. Experience in any truck type is welcome, not just waste hauling.
• A strong, safe driving record and a commitment to road safety
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a background check and DOT drug screening
• Ability to handle a physically active workload
• Friendly, professional demeanor and comfort working with clients daily
• Ability to commute to Columbus, OH 43230

Preferred:

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Candidates without a CDL must demonstrate safe, capable operation of the truck before starting on a route.

Compensation

• $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
• CDL holders start at a higher rate. Other placement within the range depends on experience.

Schedule

• Full-time, 30+ hours per week
• Schedules are built around driver availability and posted two weeks in advance
• Weekend shifts are needed from time to time, based on client needs

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
