Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver / Dray Person with HGV Class 2 certification to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating flatbed trucks and delivering goods efficiently to various locations. Your energetic approach will ensure timely deliveries, excellent customer service, and adherence to all safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of our supply chain operations, driving forward our commitment to excellence and reliability. This role involves multiple drops, stock handling, stock control, cash handling and delivering into various pubs, wholesalers, brewers and other outlets. The work entails a considerable amount of manual handling, requires good administration skills, and an ability to deal with customers on a face-to-face basis. Training will be given. FLT certification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 flatbed trucks for local and regional deliveries
• Load, secure, and unload cargo with precision, ensuring proper handling of goods
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance
• Plan delivery routes effectively to optimize efficiency and meet deadlines
• Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, providing exceptional service
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for all shipments
• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies at all times

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role
• Strong knowledge of flatbed operations and securing loads safely
• Valid HGV Class 2 license with a clean driving record
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency
• Ability to handle physical tasks involved in loading and unloading cargo
• Good communication skills for interacting with team members and customers
• Familiarity with delivery routes, GPS navigation, and route planning tools
