Driver Helper

Job Title: Part‑Time Helper (Driver’s Assistant) — Patriot Hauling & Junk Removal — Salem, OR

Pay: $20.00/hr + tips, performance bonuses & referral commissions
Schedule: Part‑time — guaranteed 20 hrs/week; up to 40 hrs/week

Hours varied. Mon–Fri; 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

This hands‑on role involves heavy lifting, loading/unloading trucks, securing loads, and delivering courteous on‑site customer service. What you’ll do

• Assist driver/operator with loading, unloading, and hauling customer items (furniture, appliances, construction debris, yard waste, etc.)
• Lift, carry, and move heavy objects (regularly up to 75 lbs; team lifts for heavier items)
• Secure loads in the truck to prevent shifting or damage during transport
• Provide friendly, respectful customer service on site and follow driver instructions
• Operate basic equipment (hand trucks, dollies, straps); report equipment or supply needs
• Take basic photos and complete simple on‑site paperwork when requested
• Keep truck and work area tidy; report hazards and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

Who we are looking for

• At least 18 years old (required)
• Physically able to perform repeated lifting and team lifts
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
• Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather and occasionally dirty or smelly conditions
• Clear communicator in English for customer and crew interactions
• Strong work ethic, ability to follow directions, and team player attitude
• Previous experience in moving, hauling, construction, landscaping, or warehouse work is a plus but not required

Schedule & location

• Local routes in Salem and surrounding communities; must be able to travel to changing job sites
