Driver Helper

Duties

• Assist delivery drivers with loading and unloading appliances from box trucks, vehicles using proper manual handling techniques.
• Support route driving by helping to organize and secure cargo, ensuring safe transport of goods.
• Help with manual lifting, carrying, and moving items to designated delivery points while adhering to safe lifting practices and weight handling guidelines.
• Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary to load or unload shipments efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and safety protocols during all aspects of delivery assistance.
• Provide excellent customer service by helping deliver packages directly to customers’ doors when needed and answering basic questions professionally.
• Assist in warehouse operations by supporting inventory management, loading dock activities, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Requirements

• Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred.
• Experience in commercial driving or as a courier is highly desirable.
• Ability to operate box trucks, vans, or vehicles with manual transmissions confidently and safely.
• Proven delivery driver experience with knowledge of route driving and adherence to traffic regulations.
• Comfortable performing heavy lifting and manual handling tasks following safe lifting practices.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and mobile devices for tracking deliveries.
• Strong commitment to safety standards including DOT regulations, weight handling in the workplace, and safe driving practices.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and teamwork.
