Driver Helper

Duties

• Assist drivers with loading and unloading packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks
• Support route driving by helping to organize deliveries and ensuring accurate delivery sequences
• Safely load and unload items from box trucks, vans, or commercial trucks while adhering to safe lifting practices and weight handling regulations
• Help maintain compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws during route driving
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups
• Operate mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication purposes
• Support warehouse operations by moving materials, organizing inventory, and assisting with warehouse tasks as needed

Skills

• Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred
• Experience in commercial driving, including box truck or van driver roles, is highly desirable
• Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles and safe driving practices for delivery driving
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely in accordance with workplace safety standards
• Familiarity with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and moving carts
• Strong understanding of adhering to traffic regulations, DOT rules, and safety protocols during route driving
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally using mobile devices or other communication tools

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
