Driver - Independent Contractor

Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible and dependable Driver – Independent Contractor to transport special needs children to and from appointments, school, and apointments. This role involves using your own vehicle to provide safe, reliable transportation services tailored to the needs of children requiring specialized care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate your personal vehicle to transport children with special needs to various appointments, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
• Assist children in boarding and exiting the vehicle, providing support as needed while maintaining their safety and comfort.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, or caregivers regarding transportation schedules and any relevant updates.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of your vehicle to ensure a safe environment for passengers.
• Keep accurate records of trips completed, and any incidents or concerns that arise during transportation.
• Adhere to confidentiality standards regarding client information and specific care requirements.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Own a reliable, well-maintained vehicle suitable for transporting children with special needs. Vehicle must not have smoke odors, and must pass Sjs Friends inspection.
• Proven experience in safe driving practices; previous experience working with children or in caregiving roles is preferred.
• Ability to assist children with boarding and exiting vehicles safely.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with families and care teams.
• Flexibility to accommodate scheduled appointments during weekdays or weekends as needed.
• Commitment to safety, punctuality, and providing compassionate service.
• Must maintain proper auto insurance for driver and passenger.

Pay: $100.00 - $500.00 per week
