Driver Operations Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a Driver Operations Coordinator to join OPTIMUM INFOSOLUTIONS (M) SDN BHD on a contract basis. Based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, this role is pivotal to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our driver fleet and logistics operations. As a Driver Operations Coordinator, you will serve as a critical link between our drivers, management, and clients, ensuring that all courier, driver, and postal services are delivered to the highest standards. This position is integral to maintaining operational excellence and meeting our service delivery objectives within the manufacturing, transport and logistics industry.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinating and scheduling driver routes and deliveries to optimise efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Monitoring driver performance, attendance, and compliance with operational procedures and safety regulations
• Communicating with drivers regarding job assignments, delivery updates, and any changes to schedules
• Liaising with clients to confirm delivery details, manage expectations, and resolve any service-related issues
• Maintaining accurate records of driver activities, vehicle maintenance, and delivery confirmations
• Assisting with the organisation of logistics operations, including vehicle allocation and resource planning
• Identifying and implementing improvements to operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
• Supporting the resolution of complaints or discrepancies related to deliveries and driver conduct
• Preparing reports on driver performance, fleet utilisation, and operational metrics for management review

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in driver coordination, logistics operations, or a similar role within the transport and courier industry
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with drivers, clients, and internal stakeholders
• Proficiency in using fleet management software, routing systems, and general computer applications
• Knowledge of transport regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements relevant to courier and driver services
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions quickly and independently in high-pressure situations
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and reporting
• A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
• Valid driving licence is advantageous
• Familiarity with Malaysian transport and logistics operations is preferred
