Driver Orientation Supervisor

KLLM Transport is looking for a Driver Orientation Supervisor

Shift: Monday – Friday, Business Hours

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

• Provide weekly Company Driver Orientation for Experienced Drivers and Academy Student graduates
• Follow an approved course of study with measurable objectives with Luma Brighter Learning
• Facilitate completion of pre-employment requirements (drug screens, CDL copies, Luma, etc.)
• Provide instruction to participants on company policy, training related matters, equipment and resources using Luma, the KLLM website, KLLM apps, etc.
• Complete and maintain appropriate new hire, attendance, and assessment records ensuring that all drivers / students completing the training courses have all documentation approved, placed, and filed within the Driver Master File and Driver DQ file for Corporate and FMCSA compliance
• Create and maintain a positive atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations
• Relate well to different ages and ability levels
• Implement a variety of instructional delivery methods, that include group or individualized instruction as well as computer programs
• Effectively communicate using multiple training methods (visual and auditory)
• Ability to keep participants engaged under strict deadlines in fast paced environment
• Contribute to and promote driver retention efforts
• Interact with recruiting and other departments to acquire and approve documentation needed for onboarding and driver qualification files
• Communicate with the Orientation Manager regarding updates needed to information, software, hardware, and material
• Occasional transportation of participants to local areas
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Maintain clean and professional classroom environment
• Observe the potential Driver/Student in orientation and ensure that he or she is a good fit for the overall operation
• Perform other duties as assigned by Orientation Manager

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal; must be able to communicate effectively through correct written grammar and usage
• Must be computer literate and proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability and initiative to learn and adapt to new ways of deploying classroom content
• Energetic personality and speaking skills that can be maintained in repetitive environment
• Detail oriented
• High degree of organizational ability
• Comfortable with public speaking
• Ability to relate to drivers in various stages of their driving career
• Demonstrated ability to perform patience and professionalism under demanding circumstances
• Highly dependable
• Professional dress and appearance
• Able to support company vision and organizational awareness
• Knowledge of industry safety compliance
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience managing drivers in transportation industry preferred
• OTR Driving experience a plus
