Driver / Shop Assistant Job Summary

We are looking for a Driver/Shop Assistant to join our company. You must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. A commercial driver’s license is not required for this position. Your job duties will include loading and unloading delivery items, operating a box truck, and cleaning and maintaining equipment. Lift-gate and forklift experience is a plus. Our clients expect their goods to arrive within a specific time frame, so you must be able to work independently and manage your time well. The Driver/Shop Assistant will be responsible for assembling parts and components to produce finished products. The ideal candidate will have experience in assembly line production, be able to work independently and in a team setting and have an eye for detail.

Driver/Shop Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive a delivery truck on a predetermined route and schedule
• Deliver or pick up items as instructed
• Load and unload vehicle as necessary
• Document deliveries or log other shipment information
• Follow DOT regulations
• Assemble parts and components according to specific instructions
• Ensure that all parts and components are assembled correctly
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor
• Assist in other areas of production as needed
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines

Driver/Shop Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Able to work independently and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Excellent communication skills
• Trucking or warehouse experience a plus
• Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must pass a background check and drug test

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
