Driver/ Warehouse Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver/Warehouse Assistant to join our team. This role involves delivering goods efficiently while supporting warehouse operations. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining smooth warehouse functions. A valid driving licence and previous experience in delivery or warehouse work are preferred, along with excellent communication skills and physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks.

Duties

• Safely operate a van or light commercial vehicle to deliver goods to various locations
• Assist with loading and unloading items, including heavy or bulky products
• Organise and maintain stock within the warehouse, ensuring items are stored correctly
• Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
• Assist in inventory management, including stock counts and recording deliveries
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
• Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with company standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse area

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with van or commercial vehicle operation
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safe driving practices within the UK
• Previous warehouse experience is advantageous, including handling heavy lifting tasks
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy items safely
• Organised with good time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
