Duties

• Operate a range of vehicles such as passenger cars, box trucks, shuttle buses, and heavy equipment like dump trucks or flatbeds, following all traffic laws and safety protocols.
• Navigate using GPS systems and fleet tracking technology to ensure efficient route driving, including over-the-road (OTR) routes and local shuttle or delivery routes.
• Load and unload freight or passengers safely using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts when necessary.
• Maintain vehicle safety by conducting pre-trip inspections, checking air brakes, manual transmissions, and mechanical systems regularly.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers via mobile devices to confirm deliveries or pickups, providing exceptional customer service throughout each interaction.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols during heavy lifting, moving cargo, or operating specialized equipment like tanker trucks or tow trucks.
• Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly while following company procedures to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating various vehicles including commercial trucks, box trucks, shuttle buses, or passenger cars; delivery driver experience is highly valued.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and fleet tracking tools for route planning and real-time location monitoring.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices; experience with pallet jacks or forklifts is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL for tractor-trailers), with a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of traffic regulations, air brake systems, manual transmissions, and mechanical basics related to commercial vehicles.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and customers effectively.
• Capable of driving in adverse weather conditions and managing route driving efficiently under varying circumstances.
• Warehouse experience or familiarity with freight handling enhances your candidacy; familiarity with heavy haul or heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
