Driver/Floater

A Child’s Dream is seeking a dependable, energetic, and caring Driver/Floater to join our team!

This position is perfect for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, takes initiative, and understands the importance of reliability in a childcare setting. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and self-learner who can follow directions, learn our routines quickly, and step in wherever support is needed.

Schedule

Monday–Friday

• Morning Shift: 6:30 a.m.–9:30 a.m.
• Afternoon Shift: 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Approximately 30 hours per week
• This is a split-shift position

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children to and from local schools
• Follow assigned transportation routes and schedules
• Complete required transportation attendance and safety checks
• Ensure children follow all vehicle safety rules
• Assist in classrooms before and after transportation runs
• Provide breaks or additional classroom support as needed
• Supervise and positively interact with children
• Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, and daily routines
• Follow all center policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures
• Communicate professionally with children, families, and coworkers
• Be willing to learn and take initiative without needing constant direction

• Understands that consistency and dependability are essential when working with children

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to successfully complete all required background checks
• Must meet Virginia childcare licensing requirements for the position
• Previous childcare, school transportation, or professional driving experience is preferred

Our Driver/Floater plays an important role in keeping our children safe, supporting our classrooms, and helping our center run smoothly each day.
